Xiaomi brings the entry-level Redmi A5 to the Philippines as its most affordable offering in 2025. With a starting price of Php 3,599 for the 3GB/64GB variant, the Redmi A5 gets a refreshed design and upgrades on its camera and display compared to its predecessor. The Redmi A5’s revamped design includes a flat frame and a sleeker camera module with metallic details. It gets dust and splash resistance, with is display now a 6.88-inch IPS panel with a 120hz refresh rate.
The cameras on the Redmi A5 get a major upgrade, using a 32-megapixel sensor that offers more resolution than the 8-megapixel one used by its predecessor. The new camera gets you improved detail for low light shots thanks to a bigger sensor. The selfie camera gets bumped to an 8-megapixel shooter and a softlight ring feature to let you take well-lit selfies even in dim environments.
You also get a performance boost with its Unisoc T7250 processor, along with a beefier 5200mAh battery that now supports 15w charging. Other features of the Redmi A5 include a side fingerprint scanner, face unlock, and a headphone jack.
Aside from the 3GB/64GB variant, the Redmi A5 is also available in the 4GB/128GB variant for Php 4,099. It will be available online starting May 20 via Xiaomi’s official Shopee and Lazada stores, and in authorized Mi Stores nationwide beginning May 23.
