While the spotlight went to the Redmi Note 12 Pro series, there was also a non-pro 5G version that was announced as well. It shares the same 6.67-inch 120hz AMOLED panel used by its Pro siblings, which is an upgrade over the 90hz AMOLED panel used by its predecessor.
However, it seems that the chipset might be a downgrade, as the Redmi Note 12 5G comes with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor instead of a Snapdragon 6-series chip. The rear camera setup is also simplified, as you only get a 48-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Keeping the lights on is a 5000mAh battery that supports 33w charging. Other features of include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box.

The Redmi Note 12 comes starts at  CNY 1199 (~Php 9.7k) for the 4GB/128GB trim. Like the Pro models, it remains exclusive in China for now–though expect Xiaomi to release a global version in the coming months.
