To come in two variants
Xiaomi has been quiet in terms of joining the 18:9 train with the near-bezel less Mi MIX 2. Yet, the Chinese brand has some surprises up its sleeve under its Redmi subbrand. Recently, TENAA revealed two new Redmi phones, codenamed MEE7 and MET7–both speculated to be the Redmi Note 5.
Both models will be sporting a 5.99-inch TFT display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a 2160 x 1080 resolution. Powering both phones is a Snapdragon 450 processor and a 4000mAh battery. You get a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, along with a 12-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. Both models will come in a variety of colors, which include black, rose gold, gold, white, blue, red, pink, gray, and silver
The difference between the two is with the RAM and storage capacity: the MEE7 will have 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, while the MET7 will have 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
There is no launch date and pricing as of this writing, but the Redmi Note 5 will be marketed as a mid-range phone.
