Remember when ASUS talked about the ROG Ally on April Fools Day two years ago–and turned out to be a legit announcement? ASUS is pulling off that trick again with the next-generation ROG Ally. From the 34-second video, what caught our eye is the Xbox controller, which gives us a hint that the Xbox gaming handheld rumors we heard a few weeks ago are true–and it might be the basis for the next ROG Ally.

If that does not convince you, the start of the clip mentions that the upcoming ROG Ally 2 (or whatever ASUS will call it) mentioned “Fresh Look!”, which means that it will get a complete redesign, unlike the ROG Ally X.
Going back to the rumor mill, the supposed ROG Ally x Xbox gaming handheld will use a Ryzen Z2 Go chip–the same one powering the Legion Go S, and will cost anywhere between $500 to $600 or around the Php 30k to Php 35k range. It will still run Windows, but rumors point to an Xbox interface.
While the end of the clip reveals a silhouette similar to the current ROG Ally X, we expect ASUS to make several tweaks to its next gaming handheld.
