Samsung Galaxy Y Netphone Edition

Samsung Galaxy Y Netphone Edition

SMART is expanding the Netphone line by coming out with the Samsung Galaxy Y Netphone Edition. Unlike the original Smart Netphone, the Samsung Galaxy Y Netphone packs Android 2.3 Gingerbread for it’s operating system. For the hardware it has a 2.8 QVGA TFT Display, a better processor with 832MHz (vs Smart Netphone’s 600Mhz), and a 2.0 MP camera. As the name implies this particular edition of the Samsung Galaxy Y has the Netphone software installed giving all the features and benefits offered by the Netphone service.

What about the price? It’s actually more affordable. The Samsung Galaxy Y Netphone Edition prepaid kit is priced at Php5,990. It comes free under Data Lite Plan 500 or All-in Plan 800. That puts this phone directly in competition with the Globe CloudFone Ice. It’s Php1,000 more expensive but it packs better Android OS and the Netphone services.

Here’s a photo of the original Samsung Galaxy Y released August 2011.
