Sometimes Trolling Can Backfire

Trolling other brands, especially between foreign brands, has been happening for a long time already but with more people tuned in and with the help from social media platforms it’s more prevalent than ever. When Apple launched iPhone 15, it garnered the attention of a couple of big brands namely Samsung and OnePlus. These two brands poked fun at Apple and trolled them for finally including USB-C in one of their flagship products.

Remember this Tweet from OnePlus last year?

Also, back in June of this year, Samsung made fun of Apple by calling out their Lack of foldable phones and the addition of the word Apple to their AI service named “Apple Intelligence” stating that putting its brand name in front of the word “intelligence” does not mean it is a new or innovative product.

This time though it’s a different story. Samsung attempted to troll Apple yet again and this time regarding the “Lazy Design” of their products–particularly Apple’s reluctance to have foldable devices, with no foldable iPhone in sight. However, it seems to have backfired when Samsung fired shots at the Watch Series 10.

A YouTuber named Quinn Nelson posted on X poking fun at Apple for its lack of originality. Samsung then replied to the tweet by saying “ You said it not us”. The YouTuber then replied saying “Hey, It’s just like your phones every year!” reminding Samsung’s lack of innovation when it comes to aesthetics with flagship phones specifically the S23 and S24 series.

Yes, the Galaxy S24 series looks similar to the Galaxy S23 series.

There’s no lie with what Nelson told Samsung: the Galaxy S series have retained most of its core design language for several years–and the same can be said with its current crop of foldables.
