Samsung Unveils Freestyle Gen 2 Projector with Gaming Hub

Roughly a year after launching its Freestyle projector, Samsung updates it with a Gen 2 model that adds Gaming Hub capabilities. With this new feature, the Freestyle Gen 2 can now stream content or play thousands of gaming titles from different platforms like Xbox Game Pass, Nvidia GeForce NOW, Amazon Luna, Utomik, Antstream Arcade, and Blacknut.

To further support its cloud gaming capabilities, the Freestyle Gen 2 supports various Bluetooth controllers and has more internal memory for a smoother and more fluid experience. You also get a SolarCell remote that cleverly uses sunlight to recharge its battery.

Save for those changes, you get the same set of features found on the first-gen Freestyle. These include being able to project a screen anywhere between 30 to 100 inches at a 1080p resolution, support for HDR10+ with a 100000:1 contrast ratio, 360-degree audio with its 5w speaker system, and Tizen OS out of the box. The port selection remains the same too: USB-C and Micro HDMI.

Just like its predecessor, the nice thing about the Freestyle Gen 2 is that you can project anywhere–and the projector takes care of the necessary adjustments.

Samsung is currently offering the Freestyle Gen 2 on pre-order in the US for $800(~Php 45k), and those who will pre-order will get a carrying case.
