Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Phones in the Philippines (2024)

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is the proper successor to the Snapdragon 870 as a “alternative flagship” processor under the Snapdragon 8 series. Despite all the arguments that the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is an inferior chip, our tests show that it is at par–and sometimes even better–than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in some scenarios.

It’s fair to say that the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is a lightweight option to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that’s used in several premium flagship phones. It does live up to its reputation as a processor of choice for 2024 flagship killers. Officially, there are only 3 phones in the Philippines that make use of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3–here’s the list:

POCO F6

Announced together with the F6 Pro last May, the POCO F6 is the first phone that’s official in the Philippines to use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. With a Php 21,599 starting price for the 8GB/256GB variant (it went under Php 20k during its early bird sale), the F6 is also the most affordable phone to use this 2024 flagship killer chip.

Aside from using the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, you also get LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, so you’re getting flagship performance at a very low price. Thanks to the processor, the F6’s IMX882 main camera can shoot 4K videos at 60FPS, which is a nice bonus.

realme GT 6

Next up is the GT 6, which is positioned as realme’s take on the flagship killer. It may be more expensive than the F6 at Php 29,849, but you’re getting good upgrades like a proper 50-megapixel 2x telephoto camera, a better 50-megapixel LYT808 main camera that’s seen on some premium flagship phones like the OnePlus 12, a bigger 5500mAh battery, and 120w charging.

The GT 6 has bragging rights on having the brightest display we’ve tested so far, and that large battery did impress us with a battery life of 17.5 hours based on our tests.

HONOR 200 Pro

The latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 phone that’s official in the Philippines is the HONOR 200 Pro, which has roughly the same price as the GT 6 but offers more features that include 512GB storage a 50-megapixel selfie camera that’s accompanied by a depth sensor, a telephoto camera with a slightly longer 2.5x optical zoom, 66w wireless charging, and the same main camera used on the Magic6 Pro.

The HONOR 200 Pro is the first time the brand offered a Pro variant in its number series in the Philippines, and it impressed us with its camera performance–confirming previous claims that it can match Google’s Pixel phones.

That rounds up all the flagship killer phones in the Philippines that make use of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Which one do you plan to buy? Let us know in the comments section.
