After being spotted in listings last June, TECNO has decided to reveal both the Phantom V Flip 2 and Phantom V Fold 2 through a pre-order promo in Ghana starting today (August 19) until August 24. There’s no grand launch or any marketing campaign for TECNO’s new foldables–they just went straight to revealing them without any hype.
Those who will pre-order either the Phantom V Fold 2 or V Flip 2 will get freebies that include a handcarry luggage, a smartwatch, a Bluetooth speaker, and a flask. Aside from that, there’s a 1-month additional warranty, 180 days screen insurance, and 15GB of MTN data for 6 months. The freebies look to be enticing, and it remains to be seen if TECNO will be offering a similar promo once they bring both of their new foldables in the Philippines.
Also interesting is that TECNO has yet to reveal the specs of both foldables–they only revealed what they look like. Confirming previous rumors, the Phantom V Flip 2 gets a revamped design with what appears to be a wraparound cover screen and two cameras in front.
The Phantom V Fold 2, on the other hand, has a revamped camera module design that is ledy by a 50-megapixel main shooter. The render also includes a stylus, hinting at the Phantom V Fold 2 having support for it. The back panel has a unique finish that we presume might be AG Glass.
Going to the internals, previous listings reveal that the Phantom V Flip 2 will use a Dimensity 8050 processor, while the Phantom V Fold 2 will use a Dimensity 9000+ processor. Expect TECNO to reveal more details on both the Phantom V Fold 2 and V Flip 2 in the coming days.
