If you are one of those who is invested in mobile videography, DJI has been leading the way with the Osmo Mobile series, and the Osmo Mobile 6 offers a lot of features for mobile videographers. Keeping the built-in extension rod of its predecessor so that you can use it as a selfie stick, the Osmo Mobile 6 comes with a larger clamp that should be able to accommodate bigger phones or smaller phones with bulky cases.
The Osmo Mobile 6 has an improved ActiveTrack feature, that allows stable tracking for longer distances and enables the phone’s front camera to track subjects that spin or turn to the side–the latter being useful for shooting A-roll with your vlogs. iPhone users get a Quick Launch feature that lets the Mimo app enter camera mode the moment the gimbal is unfolded–and as long as there’s an iPhone attached to it. In theory, this feature should speed up prep times to get you ready faster–DJI claims that this feature will let you get ready as much as 3x than its predecessors.
Other features of the Osmo Mobile 6 include a status panel for checking battery levels, and a Mode button for cycling through different modes like Follow, Tilt Lock, SpinShot, and Camera View. You also get a Side Wheel for controlling and adjusting focal length for smoother zooming.
The Osmo Mobile 6 is priced at Php 8,490 and is available at Lazada and Shopee. The kit comes with a magnetic clamp, tripod, power cable, wrist strap, and storage pouch.
