The Nothing Ear (2) is a Refined Version of its Predecessor

After being hyped up for the past few weeks, Nothing has officially unveiled its latest audio product with the Ear (2). As the naming implies, the overall design of the Ear (2) is almost the same as last year’s Ear (1). That’s not exactly a bad thing, since the brand chose to simply improve the features of the Ear (1).

So what’s new then? For starters, the Ear (2) now supports Hi-Res Audio with its LHDC 5.0 codec. As for the drivers, Nothing redesigned them with an updated dual chamber design and new custom 11.6mm drivers. Nothing claims that the updated drivers will deliver “studio-like” audio quality with more powerful bass and richer high notes. There’s also a Personal Sound Profile feature on the Ear (2), where you can further tweak the equalizer settings according to your liking through the Nothing X app.

With an updated Bluetooth connection, the Ear (2) can connect seamlessly to two devices. While the Ear (2)’s ANC “only” cancels 40db of noise (other TWS earbuds claim to do better), Nothing claims that their ANC feature is well optimized to balance noise cancellation with its studio-like audio quality.

As for the design, the only notable tweak is that the Ear (2) has a smaller charging case that’s lighter, sturdier, and has better battery life. Nothing claims up to 36 hours of use with the charging case, while a 10-minute top-up can give 8 hours of playback time.

The Ear(2) is priced at Php 8,490, and Digital Walker is accepting pre-orders until March 27.
