In a nutshell: After being underwhelming with the 10 series, OnePlus is hyping up the 11 in efforts to make the brand cool again.
Ever since it merged with OPPO, OnePlus’ uniqueness has been diluted and lost its cool kid vibes. It does not help that the 10 Pro and 10T were embroiled in controversy for unfortunately snapping in half with Jerryrigeverything’s brutal durability test. With all the mishaps OnePlus has experienced, the brand aims to be cool once a gain with the OnePlus 11, and ONLY that phone.
We already know that the OnePlus 11 will launch in China first, but the fact that the brand confirmed its global launch in India on February 7 shows that they are indeed hyping up their next flagship device. OnePlus even has a short teaser video highlighting the Hasselblad-branded cameras and the return of the alert slider to ensure its loyal fans that the OnePlus 11 will not be a rebranded OPPO device.
In line with its February 7 global launch, OnePlus will also announce a new pair of TWS earbuds to go along with the Buds Pro 2. Not much is known about them, but we expect them to have flagship-caliber ANC.
Moving to the phone itself, the OnePlus 11 will have a huge, circular camera module that has bold Hasselblad branding. The camera bump is located beside the alert slider for a seamless look–and we really hope OnePlus has learned their lesson on the structural design issues of the 10 series this time around.
Being a flagship device (that will most likely slot below OPPO’s Find series), the OnePlus 11 is expected to have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 100w wired charging, and various RAM and storage options of up to 16Gb and 512GB respectively. The Hasselblad-branded triple rear camera setup is rumored to comprise of a 50-megapixel IMX890 main camera, 48-megapixel IMX581 ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 32-megapixel IMX709 telephoto camera withg 2x optical zoom.
