The Redmi A3 is a “Very Affordable” Xiaomi 13 Ultra

Ever wanted the looks of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra but don’t have the money to spend for one? Xiaomi has made a budget phone that looks similar to its camera-focused flagship with the Redmi A3. Part of Xiaomi’s ultra budget models, the Redmi A3 gets a significant design makeover from the Redmi A1 and A2 with that large, circular module in the back that houses a conventional 8-megapixel selfie camera.

Also new with the Redmi A3 is that it has a bigger 6.71-inch display with a 90hz refresh rate, and its fingerprint scanner has been relocated to the side. The battery is still the same at 5000mAh, but we’re thankful that Xiaomi has made the switch to USB-C even on its most affordable phones.

While it has the same Helio G36 processor as the Redmi A2, the Redmi A3’s configuration options include as much as 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. This allows the Redmi A3 to have a full version of Android 14 and not the Go version of Android 13 like its predecessor. Rounding up the new features on Xiaomi’s most affordable phone for 2024 is a leather-like back option for the Olive Green colorway.

The Redmi A3 starts at INR 7299(~Php 5k) for the 3GB/64GB variant and goes up all the way to INR 9299(~Php 6.5k) for the 6GB/128Gb variant. It will be available in India starting February 23, and we expect Xiaomi to bring it to the Philippines soon.
