The TECNO POVA 5 Pro Gets RGB Lighting in the Back

After the mecha-inspired POVA 5, TECNO announced a higher-end Pro model that retains the same mecha aesthetic but adds RGB lighting in the back. The back panel lighting has 9 colors to choose from and can be utilized for notifications, warnings, and in-game actions.

Being a higher-end version, the POVA 5 Pro is 5G-ready with its use of a Dimensity 6080 processor–which is based on the Dimensity 810. Compared to the Helio G99 used on the vanilla POVA 5, the Dimensity 6080 has a better GPU, which means a better gaming experience. Like its vanilla sibling, the POVA 5 Pro comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. To keep thermals stable, the POVA 5 Pro has a large 2,820mm² vapor chamber and a 12,979mm² heat dissipation area that TECNO claims can lower temps by 2 degrees Celsius.

Like the vanilla model, the POVA 5 Pro also has a 6.78-inch IPS display with a 120hz refresh rate, and TECNO claims that you can run Mobile Legends: Bang Bang at 120FPS and Free Fire at 90FPS–that’s quite a feat for a budget gaming phone.

Keeping the lights on the POVA 5 Pro is a 5000mAh battery that supports 68w charging. Like Infinix’s NOTE 30 VIP, the POVA 5 Pro has a Bypass Charging feature that lets you power it directly from a charger or power bank to reduce heat and wear and tear to the internal battery.

Other features of the TECNO POVA 5 Pro include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, and a dual rear camera setup that’s led by a 50-megapixel main camera. It will be available in Indonesia starting August 20 for IDR 2,949,000(~Php 11k), and we expect TECNO to make it available in the Philippines as well soon.
