The vivo X Flip Aims to be Another Galaxy Z Flip4 Contender

After the Find N2 Flip, vivo joins the trend with the X Flip as its first compact foldable phone. The X Flip’s foldable display is a 6.74-inch 120hz AMOLED display with ultra-thin glass and 1200nits peak brightness. Its punch-hole has a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. The X Flip has a flex mode of sorts, letting you prop the display at 90-degrees for various functions.

Just like the X Fold 2, the X Flip is a flagship device, as it has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor inside, along with 12GB LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. When it comes to battery capacity, the X Flip offers a bigger 4400mAh battery inside–making it the largest capacity on a flip phone. It supports 44w wired charging–which we presume is the same one used on the Find N2 Flip.

For its cameras, vivo incorporated its ZEISS partnership for the X Flip, with its dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel IMX866V main camera with OIS and a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide camera with autofocus. Its cover screen is slightly smaller than the one on the Find N2 Flip at 3 inches but has a landscape orientation like the Galaxy Z Flip4. Like the rest of the flip phones in the market, you get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the X Flip.

The X Flip is priced at CNY 5999(~Php 48.9k) for the 256GB model and CNY 6999(~Php 57k) for the 512GB model. That’s a competitive price–not to mention that it’s relatively affordable compared to its rivals. vivo has yet to disclose if the X Flip will be made available globally.
