If you can get over the fact that it has HD and not FHD then this is, as of this writing, the best phablet you can buy from a local smartphone company.
Big Screen Experience Without the Big Screen Price Tag
Unbox EIC Carlo Ople wrote that in his review of the Starmobile Diamond X1 at the beginning of the year in 2014, and since then, no other local phablet has come close to matching the Diamond X1. This partly because of the Diaomond X1’s great feature set, and partly because local manufacturers are intent on competing in the 5 and 5.5-inch segment, and have sadly ignored the phablet market. The Diaomind X1 was one of the very first locally available octa-core smartphones launched last year, and even after a year it still manages to hold up quite well. Like we said in the original review, once you get past the fact that the screen isn’t a full HD panel, you’ll appreciate the somewhat long battery life and the extra screen real-estate that the 6-inch display gives you. Certainly a smartphone to get if you’re looking for a premium, big screen experience without the premium price tag.
