vivo adds another budget 5G phone to its portfolio with the Y55s 5G. Not to be confused with the Y55s that came out in 2017, the Y55s 5G is a 5G-ready phone that boasts of a large 6000mAh battery–the biggest battery ever on a vivo phone.
vivo Y55s 5G Specs
- Dimensity 700 processor
- 8GB RAM
- 128GB UFS 2.2 storage
- 6.58-inch Full HD+ LCD display
- 50-megapixel f/1.8 main camera with PDAF, 2-megapixel macro camera
- 8-megapixel f/2.25 selfie camera
- 4G, 5G

- 6000mAh battery
- 18w wired charging

The phone shares a lot of similarities with the Y76s 5G that was announced in China last month, but the Y55s 5G settles for a Dimensity 700 processor and a slower 18w wired charging solution for topping up that large 6000mAh battery.
Like the Y76s 5G, you get 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage on the Y55s 5G, along with a 6.58-inch Full HD+ IPS display with a dewdrop notch for the 8-megapixel selfie snapper. Its dual rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel f/1.8 main camera and a 2-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera. Since this phone was announced in China, the Y55s comes with Android 11-based OriginOS out of the box.
The Y55s 5G is priced at CNY 1,699(~Php 13.5k), and there’s no word if vivo will make it available in the Philippines–considering it brought over the Y76 5G this month.
