Here’s Why the V40 Lite 5G is Worth Considering

After launching the V40 last month, vivo follows it up with the V40 lite series as its more affordable offerings. The 5G version of the V40 Lite brings 5G connectivity at as lower price point, along with value-added features that embody vivo’s V series. We got to use the V40 Lite 5G for a week, and here are the things we like about it:

Great battery life.

While the V40 Lite 5G packs the usual 5000mAh battery inside its 7.7mm thin body, vivo has an excellent track record when it comes to battery life. With our tests, we got an outstanding battery life of 19 hours and 36 minutes, which translates to more than a days’ worth of use–and even up to 2 days.

vivo is also confident with the battery used on the V40 Lite 5G, and guarantees that its health will be at above 80% after 4 years. Those who will pre-order get this special warranty, where vivo will replace the V40 Lite 5G’s battery free of charge if its health goes down below 80% within 4 years.

Fast charging speeds.

No one likes waiting in a power outlet to get their phone fully charged, and the V40 Lite 5G delivers with its 80w wired charging support. Topping up the battery to 100% takes just around 45 minutes, which is perfect if you’re getting ready in the morning and want a fully charged phone before starting the day.

Beyond fast charging, vivo also made sure that the V40 Lite 5G’s battery health is well-taken care of with its suite of software features to manage it.

Capable cameras.

Just like the rest of the V series, the V40 Lite 5G shines with its camera setup that’s led by a 50-megapixel main shooter. Accompanying it is an 8-megapixel ultrawide shooter and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. We took the V40 Lite 5G around for a week, and the shots we took are great for a midrange phone.

vivo did a good job in maximizing the ultra-wide camera for both daylight and lowlight conditions, and the 50-megapixel main camera performed just as great.

Aura Light is a great tool to have.

Being part of the V series, you also get vivo’s versatile Aura Light on the V40 Lite 5G, which proves to be a useful feature to have if you need additional lighting for your subject.

Even if the V40 Lite 5G is one of the most affordable V series phones in recent memory, its Aura Light has an AI-powered smart color temperature control that uses the optimal light color to properly illuminate your subjects. This is one of the things that make the V40 Lite 5G stand out in the midrange segment.

5G-ready and capable processor.

The V40 Lite can be availed in either 4G or 5G variants, and the latter is the first device in the Philippines that uses a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. This new chip gives you better image processing performance compared to similar 5G chips in its price segment, along with native support for EIS and an updated 5G modem that promises up to 2.5Gbps download speeds and 900Mbps upload speeds.

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is made using a 4nm process, making it a power-efficient processor that has good battery life. While the V40 Lite 5G is a camera-focused midrange phone, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 can do light gaming—just manage your expectation when it comes to graphics quality. We played Genshin Impact on the V40 Lite 5G in low graphics, and it is usable for casual gaming.

The V40 Lite 5G starts at Php 15,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant. Those who will pre-order until October 31 will get a 4-year warranty for thew battery, vivo TWS 3e wireless earbuds, and a Php 1,000 discount.
