While the standard V40 has already been unveiled in Europe last June, vivo also unveiled a Pro version in its launch in India. The V40 Pro looks very similar to the standard V40, and only differs in two key features.
The first key difference is with the cameras, where the V40 Pro adds a 2x telephoto camera that uses an IMX816 sensor, while the main camera uses an IMX921 sensor. The camera setup of the V40 Pro sounds familiar and that’s because it’s the same setup used on the V30 Pro.

The other key difference–a big one at that–is the use of a Dimensity 9200+ chip on the V40 Pro, along with the use of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The last time we saw vivo used this chip was on the X90 and X90 Pro, which makes the V40 Pro feel more like an X series model especially with the Zeiss branding for the cameras.
Just like the standard V40, you’re also getting an IP68 rating on the V40 Pro, along with a big 5500mAh battery while keeping the phone as slim as possible at 7.58mm.
As for pricing, the V40 Pro starts at INR 54,999(~Php 38k) for the 8GB/256GB model, placing it in X series territory. This makes the V40 Pro a potential flagship killer if vivo does plan to make it available in the Philippines.
