After unveiling the V50 Lite series with a huge 6500mAh battery, vivo is bringing its BlueVolt battery tech to the Y series with the Y29. Slated to launch in the Philippines, the Y29 is the most affordable vivo phone to have a 6500mAh BlueVolt battery, which is bigger than what its predecessor offered.
Armed with a bigger battery and improved power management, our initial tests has the Y29 scoring 31 hours and 4 minutes in PCMark’s Battery Benchmark test. That makes the Y29 our new battery champ, outscoring the V50 Lite 5G and allowing you to use the phone for as long as 3 days. Like its predecessor, the Y29 has support for 44w charging, so topping up the 6500mAh battery will be fast.
vivo also improved the durability of the Y29 with an SGS 5-Star Drop Resistance Certification, along with an IP64 rating to keep it safe from accidental water splashes. The Y29’s stereo speakers have been tuned as well, offering a higher volume range. It will have 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage–with the latter expandable via MicroSD at up to 2TB.
The vivo Y29 will launch in the Philippines on May 31, so stay tuned for official pricing, availability, and promo offers.
