Huawei is back on the audio scene with the availability of the FreeBuds Pro 2 in the Philippines. As the brand’s premium TWS offering, it’s no secret that the FreeBuds Pro 2 is set to go against similarly-priced and similarly-specced TWS earbuds like Apple’s AirPods Pro and Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro.
Against the competition, how does the FreeBuds Pro 2 fare against Pro models from Apple and Samsung? Check out our comprehensive comparo video below:
All three TWS earbuds do have their own pros and cons, though the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 does trump over Samsung and Apple’s offerings in a few aspects. The biggest factor is Huawei’s use of planar drivers instead of dynamic drivers which are commonly seen on most TWS earbuds. In a nutshell, planar drivers deliver better sound reproduction of the full audible frequency spectrum (including lows for that crisp bass) and don’t suffer from distortion at higher volumes.
Aside from that, Huawei capitalizes on the planar drivers used on the FreeBuds Pro 2 by adding support for a laundry list of features that include Triple Adaptive EQ, LDAC High-Resolution Codec support, and 4-Mic call noise cancellation. You read that right: the FreeBuds Pro 2 is one of the few TWS earbuds in the market that has native support for LDAC, letting you enjoy high-resolution audio on the go.
