It looks like the Civi 2 is coming to global markets, after all. Typical of Xiaomi, the Civi 2 will get a different name global and will be known as the 12 Lite 5G NE. This would mean that the rather elusive Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will finally be available in global markets–the Chinese Reno8 Pro came with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, but was not made available globally.
The rumor was spotted in an FCC listing, with the phone in question carrying the model number 2210129SG. The “G” at the end of the model number signifies a global version, and an IMEI database further confirms this as the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE. Like the 11 Lite 5G NE, there will be three configurations for the 12 Lite 5G NE: 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB.
We should not expect any differences from the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE from the China-only Civi 2, so you’re getting a 6.55-inch 120hz AMOLED display with a centrally-placed punch-hole for two 32-megapixel cameras (one main and one wide-angle)–after all, the Civi 2 is geared towards selfie lovers, and we expect the same with the 12 Lite 5GT NE.
Other expected features of the 12 Lite 5G NE include a 50-megapixel IMX766 main camera, 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, 2-megapixel macro camera, 4500mAh battery with support for 67w charging, and Android 12-based MIUI 13.
