Xiaomi Also Announced New Tablets Alongside 15 Series

While the highlight of Xiaomi’s launch last October 29 was the 15 series being the first Snapdragon 8 Elite phone, Xiaomi also unveiled new tablets with the Pad 7 series. Consisting of the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro, both tablets feature an 11.2-inch 144hz IPS display with a 3200×2136 resolution and 800nits of peak brightness, along with an 8850mAh battery powering it.

You also get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and HyperOS 2 out-of-the-box. Both support the same set of accessories that include a pencil and what appears to be an updated keyboard folio that’s similar to Apple’s Magic Keyboard for iPads.

Both tablets look identical, but there are differences in the internals. The standard Pad 7 comes with a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor and supports 45w charging. Its cameras consist of a 13-megapixel rear shooter and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.

The Pad 7 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor and supports 67w wired charging. It gets a better set of cameras that consist of a 50-megapixel rear shooter and a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. Aside from that, the Pro model has an exclusive 12GB/512GB variant, along with support for WiFi 7.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 series starts at CNY 1,999(~Php 16.5k), which we presume refers to the 8GB/128GB version. Just like with the 15 series, we only expect the standard Pad 7 to be made available globally–though Xiaomi may change its mind.
