Aside from the Mi MIX Fold and Mi MIX Alpha, Xiaomi is finally releasing a proper, commercial Mi MIX model with the Mi MIX 4. True to the Mi MIX philosophy, the Mi MIX 4 has an edge-to-edge, notch-free display, along with an under-display camera, making it the first commercial Xiaomi phone to have the groundbreaking tech. It is a 3-year long wait, and Xiaomi made sure that the rather long wait is worth it.

The Mi MIX 4’s display pushes boundaries further with virtually no bezels thanks to the 3D curved design of its panel. It has a Full HD+ resolution, Gorilla Glass Victus protection, 120hz refresh rate, and a 20-megapixel under-display selfie camera with 1.6um pixels tucked behind the display. Xiaomi had to use a flexible display and redesigned the circuit array to maximize transparency and the amount of light reaching the camera underneath the display. The array is described to be as a micro-diamond pixel pattern to minimize light reflection.
Being a premium device, the Mi MIX 4 has a ceramic chassis, along with Harman Kardon-tuned speakers. The triple rear camera setup is no slouch, as the Mi MIX 4 has a 108-megapixel f/1.95 ISOCELL HMX main camera with OIS, a 13-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera with freeform lens, and an 8-megapixel periscope camera with 5x optical zoom and OIS.
Powering the Mi MIX 4 is a Snapdragon 888+ processor that is paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage. Its 4500mAh battery supports 120w wired charging and 50w wireless charging; the former tops up the battery in 21 minutes, while the latter does the same thing at 45 minutes. Xiaomi claims that the Mi MIX 4’s maximum temperature at 120w charging default mode is 37 degrees Celsius, and this is made possible with a 1232mm² graphene heat spreader, three different graphite pads, and a smart temperature management system.
Even with its ceramic unibody build, the Mi MIX 4 has 19 antennas and 42 frequency bands–one of them being a 500 MHz ultra wide band–for the best possible reception.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 Price
The Mi MIX 4 is priced at CNY 4999(~Php 39k) for the 8GB/128GB model and CNY 6299(~Php 49.1k) for the 12GB/512GB model. It will be available in China on August 16, while global availability will happen at a later date.
