Ahead of its December 7 launch date, Xiaomi global spokesperson Donovan Sung shared via Twitter the official looks of the upcoming Redmi 5 and 5 Plus:

Among the key elements for both Redmi phones include an 18:9 display, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a single rear camera setup.
As for specs, the Redmi 5 will have a 5.7-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 450 chipset, 3200mAh battery, 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and three variants: 2GB/16GB, 3GB/32GB, and 4GB/64GB. The Redmi 5 is expected to be priced at CNY 699 (~Php 5.4k) for the base model.
The Redmi 5 Plus, on the other hand, will have a 5.99-inch FHD+ screen, Snapdragon 625 chipset, 4oo0mAh battery, and two variants: 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. The Redmi 5 Plus is expected to be priced at CNY 999 (~Php 7.7k) for the base model.
Both models will be running Xiaomi’s MIUI 9, along with Android Nougat out of the box.
