No more notch
Hours after domestic rival OPPO posted their under-display camera tech, Xiaomi took to social media to show off their own take on the notch-removing technology.

Lin Bin, Xiaomi’s president posted the short video clip on Chinese social media site Weibo, showing two smartphones: one with a notch and the other with an all-screen display.
After scrolling and navigating using the phones, the girl manipulating the all-screen device turns on the camera and switches to the selfie shooter.
Despite the lack of a notch or a motorized pop-up camera, the girl can clearly be seen on the screen, which means the camera is underneath the display.
Since Xiaomi has already announced their flagship Mi 9 device a few weeks ago, it’s more than likely that the new tech will be used in the company’s upcoming all-screen Mi Mix device. The company’s first Mi Mix kicked off the race for the ultimate all-screen phone, and it’s only poetic for the brand to use the ultimate notch-killing tech on the device.
