Will it have KitKat right away when it arrives in the PH?
Remember the news about Novo7 Tech bringing over Chinese manufacturer Zopo’s flagship ZP998 here? Well, there’s a distinct possibility that the phone may get KitKat right out of the box (or through an OTA) when it finally does make the trip over. Zopo has posted a video of the ZP998 running KitKat on their online shop.
Zopo ZP998
- 1.7GHz MediaTek octa-core processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 16GB of storage, expandable via microSD up to 64GB
- 5.5-inch, full HD IPS display, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, 1080 x 1920 resolution
- 14-megapixel rear camera
- 5-megapixel front camera
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB OTG, GPS, A-GPS
- Dual SIM, dual standby
- 3G, HSPA
- 2400mAh battery
- Android 4.2
Sadly, Zopo tells GizChina that the update is still in beta stages and is still undergoing tests, but since they’ve already posted a video, it’s very likely that the update will come sooner rather than later. If it does hit when Novo7 Tech starts selling it in the PH, it means that it’ll be the first octa-core smartphone running KitKat, until of course Cherry Mobile, MyPhone and Starmobile get their flagships running KitKat first. We’ll see.
