ZTE to Bring Nubia Neo 5G to the Philippines

ZTE sub-brand Nubia is known for its Red Magic gaming phones, and while it recently made them officially available via Digital Walker, ZTE is set to bring an affordable gaming phone to the Philippines with the nubia Neo 5G.

While it does have the looks of a gaming smartphone with its Transformers-like back panel design, the nubia Neo 5G went for an unconventional processor choice with the Unisoc T820. This is the first time we heard of a phone using this processor, and it’s said to be a 6nm chip that has a Cortex-A76 core running at 2.7Ghz, three Cortex-A76 cores running at 2.3Ghz, and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.1Ghz–along with a Mali-G57 MP4 GPU running at 850Mhz.

On paper, the Unisoc T820 should be at par with the Snapdragon 695 and Dimensity 810–but we will need to these the nubia Neo 5G to see if it’s a capable processor.

Other features of the nubia Neo 5G include a 6.67-inch IPS display with a 120hz refresh rate, Full HD+ resolution, and a notch for a 13-megapixel selfie camera, 8GB RAM, 256GB internal storage, 50-megapixel main rear camera, and a 5000mAh battery with support for 33w charging.

We’re unsure about pricing in the Philippines yet, but the nubia Neo 5G is priced at 9,999 Baht in Thailand for the 8GB/256GB variant, which translates to around Php 16k. For global pricing, however, the 8GB/128GB variant is priced at $200 or around Php 12k.
