Lenovo has a Crazy Concept at MWC 2025 with the ThinkBook Flip

If the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 is not enough to convince you that Lenovo is pushing innovation in exploring different form factors in laptops, it exhibited at MWC 2025 the ThinkBook Flip AI PC concept that has a display that, well, flips upwards.

While it uses the same flexible OLED panel as the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 in principle, the ThinkBook Flip approaches things differently with the display folding behind the main display area instead of rolling downwards when you don’t need the extra screen estate. The benefits of this approach is that there are no motors involved and that none of the screen estate remains unused. This is why the ThinkBook Flip’s display is slightly larger than the one on the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6.

The ThinkBook Flip’s display is a normal 13-inch one when folded back–with the rear portion being usable to mirror or extend your display and present it to someone else. Unfold it, and you’re greeted by a tall 18.1-inch display with a 2000×2664 resolution, making it ideal for viewing long documents. Aside from the unique display, the ThinkBook Flip has a Smart ForcePad trackpad that has three color-coded layers that show a number pad or shortcuts depending on your use case.

While it is still in a concept phase, Lenovo hinted that expected specs for the ThinkBook Flip include a Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, Thunderbolt 4 ports, PCIe 5.0 SSD storage, and a fingerprint scanner.
