Despite being a pickup truck built primarily for utility—especially towing and hauling, Ford will give its customers a sophisticated interior that will enhance “user experience.” True enough, the cabin of the model is filled with well-integrated tech.

Starting with the new SYNC 4A infotainment system, the 2022 Ford Ranger has infotainment that offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity and displays the latest features used to make the SYNC4A system easier to navigate. Whether it’s the  10.1 or 12-inch display, the large-format screen works like a smartphone. It has a customizable split-screen setup with an information-on-demand panel that is always available at the bottom of the screen. This information-on-demand panel displays key information like the user’s connected smartphone and the like.

According to Ford, large-format screens are better for navigation while still leaving a room at the bottom for other functions such as climate control and entertainment controls. The screen is also linked to a 360-degree camera, which allows users to park with ease no matter how tight the space is. It also allows users to check the surrounding at any time without any blind spots.

Moreover, the instrument cluster, which houses things like the speedometer and tachometer, is now digital. The new 8-inch digital instrument panel is customizable. It allows users to toggle between layouts, showing information such as driver-assist technologies, tachometer on or off, and extra gauges.

Since the Ranger features on and off driving modes, the instrument panel displays a different theme for each selected drive mode.

These driving modes are now located on the SYNC screen. With just a press of a button,  drivers can go to Ranger’s dedicated off-road screen where they can monitor the driveline, steering angle, vehicle pitch, roll angles, and other controls.

Also located in the SYNC screen are the climate and entertainment controls, with additional physical controls mounted just below the screen for quick and easy adjustments.

Even the airconditioning system of the upcoming model has been upgraded with variable stroke technology. According to Ford, applying variable stroke technology in its climate control compressor will result in fuel efficiency gains because it reduces the compressor’s cycling requirements. In addition, the Ranger’s climate control system can quickly adjust modes and blower speeds to maintain a comfortable cabin in all weather conditions. This was made possible by a more advanced climate sensor.

Other tech stuff that can be found in the all-new Ranger are the e-shifter, electronic parking brake, charging pad, USB ports, 12V/240V sockets, and 400W inverter located in the pickup bed.
