Globe users can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the telco has finally announced that prepaid customers can now buy their prepaid eSIM through their GlobeOne app.

Unfortunately, there’s a huge catch for this right now – only iOS users of the GlobeOne App can access the eSIM option, as there’s no option to buy it for Android users as of yet. Only foreigners visiting the country can buy an eSIM for their Android device (as verified on our Xiaomi 14), so if you’re planning to go this route for your eSIM compatible Android phone, you’ll have to wait a while.

Globe initially promised customers that their prepaid eSIM would be available through the unified GlobeOne App back in September of 2023, but unforeseen delays and issues forced a six-month pushback of the release date.

The prepaid eSIM is priced at just Php 99 and comes with 5GB of data along with unlimited all net texts valid for 3 days when registered.

Smart was the first telco to offer a prepaid eSIM back in July of 2023.

Just like Smart though, current prepaid customers cannot change their physical SIM numbers to eSIM numbers as of now. If you buy a Globe eSIM, you are getting a new number.

Activation of the eSIM is done via email, with payment options for said product done via either credit/debit card or via GCash. Make sure to keep all related information (email/QR code and the actual number) as it’ll be needed if you need to transfer the eSIM number to another phone.
