Apex Legends follows the same trend of having Filipino characters in its game, as it teases its latest character Conduit ahead of its official release on October 31.

In the four-minute trailer entitled “For Us, Utang na Loob“, Conduit’s origin involves a Monarch Titan that saves her family and neighborhood from the invading Ion Force. The unnamed pilot of the Monarch Titan sacrificed himself to save Conduit’s town. The short film changes pace into a happy home, where snippets of Filipino cuisine and culture are highlighted. The short film closes with Conduit interacting with the fallen Monarch Titan’s irradiated battery, where she gains mysterious powers.

According to leaks dating back from 2019, Conduit is said to be a support character who gives shields to herself and her teammates. Part of her kit also mentions getting a speed buff that she can use for giving shields strategically to her teammates. There’s also a mention of an “overshield” mechanic, where this type of shield evolves based on the number of kills.

Conduit is set to debut on Season 19 of Apex Legends, which will kick off on October 31.

Aside from Apex Legends, other games that have Filipino characters include Valorant, Call of Duty Vanguard, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
