After unveiling its AI-powered Magic Studio back in 2023, Canva expands its visual suite further, not just with more AI tools, but also including Sheets to complete its line of tools for creators.
Announced at Canva Create 2025, Sheets is part of Visual Suite 2.0, which aims to unlock a new level of creativity and productivity. With Sheets, Canva believes that data visualization plays an important role in all the tools it is offering to its subscribers to help scale up their content across different platforms. The motivation to add Sheets to their variety of tools is based on their study, where around 70% of professionals who work with data weekly feel anxious about it. Canva aims to make data visualization easy and less intimidating with Sheets: by scanning datasets from top data platforms like HubSpot, Statista, and Google Analytics, Canva Sheets will make it easy to bring these key data to life in a way that’s easy to understand.
To go along with the launch of Sheets, Canva is bringing Magic Studio to scale. That means that Magic Studio can be utilized to transform spreadsheets into tools for creating content. This should help content creators and marketing professionals plan out their content for the whole duration of their campaign. With that in mind, Canva’s vast visual suite can create everything in one unified format–from documents, presentations, to websites. In a nutshell, Canva is making content creation less intimidating to everyone.
Canva AI is more powerful than ever, with text and voice prompts allowing Canva to help you generate the things you need for your idea, which include text, slides, images, down to editing and resizing photos. Speaking of photo editing, Canva AI also helps edit photos more easily, with Canva claiming that its AI-powered photo editing tools are as easy as customizing a Canva template.
We also got an update on its Creator Fund, which amounts to $200 million and is a first in the industry: Canva has over 10 thousand creators that are part of it, with less than 1% of them opting out of AI training. In return, Canva has paid out millions in AI royalties to these creators. “Canva sees AI as a tool to amplify, not replace, human creativity, and is committed to building AI responsibly and transparently,” it said in its press release.
Rounding up its series of major announcements is the debut of Canva Code, which aims to make interactive content easy for its subscribers. From creating calculators to forms and flashcards, Canva also wants to make coding less intimidating to its subscribers so that they can also create dynamic content.
