With all the different cameras one can have as part of content creation gear, drones are one of the more interesting devices. They give you an interesting POV for your videos–but they are sometimes tricky to operate and are usually bulky. DJI thinks that a tiny, easy-to-use drone is something content creators should have, and that’s the main selling point of the Neo.
As the smallest and lightest drone DJI has created at just 135 grams, the Neo can be operated without a remote controller and has preset shooting settings to let content creators do aerial videography without all of the complications associated with flying drones. Don’t underestimate its tiny size: the Neo is capable of shooting 4K video at 30FPS, making it a good complement to users of the Osmo Pocket 3 when it comes to content creation.
Should you want to use a remote control like the Goggles 3 or RC-N3 controller, you can fly the Neo at a longer distance (up to 10km according to DJI) and do FPV footage if you use the former–just don’t expect it to do things the Avata 2 is capable of.
Aside from being able to shoot 4K30 video at a 16:9 aspect ratio, the Neo can also shoot Full HD at 60FPS, along with taking 12-megapixel stills in either 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio. For stabilization, you’re limited to single-axis gimbal stabilization and EIS–but remember that this is a drone meant for beginners. You also get a 22GB internal storage, along with a run time of 18 minutes.
The DJI Neo is priced at Php 10,799 in the Philippines, with the Fly More Combo (adding two more batteries and an RC-N3 controller) priced at Php 18,999. It will be available starting September 05 at all DJI authorized retail stores at DJI Experience Stores across key locations including SM Aura, SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, SM North Edsa, SM Seaside Cebu, SM Palawan, One Ayala, and Abreeza Davao (opening soon). It can also be purchased online via TikTok Shop, Shopee and Lazada.
