It’s all over in the news that Samsung dominated the first quarter of 2024 thanks to the great reception of the Galaxy S24 series and its introduction to Galaxy AI. If those reports are not enough, Counterpoint revealed that the Galaxy S24 Ultra is the best-selling Android phone for the first quarter of 2024.
The top 4 spots may be dominated by Apple–with the iPhone 15 Pro Max as the best-selling phone for the said period–but it’s nice to see that Samsung’s most premium phone is on top as far as Android phones are concerned.
Aside from the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the standard Galaxy S24 also made it to the list–marking the first time that a base Galaxy S series model is also part of the top 10 best-selling phones globally. “The S24 series was the first to reach the market with GenAI features and capabilities, allowing users to create unique content and experience a new level of interaction with their smartphones,” Counterpoint said in its report.
Aside from Generative AI powers with Galaxy AI, some of the key updates of the Galaxy S24 Ultra include a titanium frame, a flat display, and a new 50-megapixel telephoto camera that has a lower 5x optical zoom but a brighter f/3.4 aperture.
