Here’s How to Use GCash Abroad Seamlessly

One of the biggest GCash features that has rolled out is the ability to use the eWallet service for transactions abroad with Global Pay. Recently, GCash has been promoting the conveniences of Global Pay with a campaign featuring Megan Young and Mikael Daez, who went around Tokyo, Japan, and used their GCash accounts to do cashless transactions with various merchants.

Japanese merchants that accept GCash as a form of payment include BIC Camera and Glico stores, along with GiGO video arcade stores in Japan.

Using GCash Global Pay is easy: all you have to do is check if the merchant supports AliPay+. From there, you simply open your GCash app and select “Pay Abroad with AliPay+” or scan the merchant’s AliPay+ QR code. After you conduct your transaction, everything’s done–No need to bring out cash or use your credit cards.

Aside from the convenience of cashless payments, GCash also has competitive Forex fees with its real-time conversion to save you from any additional fees and from the need to visit a money changer every time you are in a different country.

Aside from Japan, GCash Global Pay is available in South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau, Qatar, the UAE, the USA, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
