Ahead of its official launch in China on September 10, HUAWEI has revealed the design of the Mate XT Ultimate design, which is poised to be the first tri-fold phone to be made available commercially.

The official renders reveal the Mate XT with red-orange vegan leather panels and gold accents, along with a camera module that’s reminiscent of the Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design with a hexagonal design and four cameras that include what appears to be a periscope module.
Aside from the complex dual-hinge design, the Mate XT appears to be razor thin for a foldable, with its display becoming around 10 inches in size when unfolded. According to the pre-order page, there will be two variants 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB. Pre-orders are ongoing until September 19, and we will not be surprised if it will be very expensive, as this will be the first-ever tri-fold phone that will be sold to consumers.
HUAWEI did not reveal much yet about the Mate XT, but we will not be surprised to see a Kirin processor powering it–possibly a more powerful version that’s found on the Pura 70 series. Expect HUAWEI to reveal more details on September 10, a day after the official launch of the iPhone 16 series.
