Despite improvements in internet connectivity in the Philippines, the country’s average speeds are still behind the global average according to Meltwater’s 2025 Global Digital Report.
For mobile internet speeds in February 2025, the Philippines has an average download speed of 35.56Mbps, which is lower than the global average of 61.52Mbps. The fastest mobile internet goes to the UAE at 441.89Mbps, while the slowest goes to Nigeria at 18.91Mbps. The average mobile internet speeds in the Philippines is comparable to Argentina, which has an average download speed of 35.16Mbps.
Moving to fixed internet speeds, the Philippines has an average of 93.68Mbps, which is just a shy behind of a global average of 95.10Mbps. For fixed internet speeds, the Philippines is the second slowest in the Southeast Asia region—with the slowest being Indonesia at 32.05Mbps.
Other interesting findings from the report include 83.8% of Filipinos using the internet according to Kepios Analysis, which is higher than the 67.9% global average. Filipinos have one of the longest internet usage times with an average of 8 hours and 52 minutes a day across various devices. That’s higher than the global average of 6 hours and 38 minutes. For mobile devices alone, the average Filipino spends 5 hours and 21 minutes.
