While we are waiting for the new iPads to arrive–which includes the shift to OLED for the iPad Pro and a bigger iPad Air–Apple has quietly announced upgrades to the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air, where both models now have an M3 processor like the base 14-inch MacBook Pro.

The updated lineup for the MacBook Air will still retain the M2 version for the 13-inch model, which now starts at Php 59,990 for the 8GB/256GB model.

The upgrades are incremental–you still get the same form factor as the M2 MacBook Air–though Apple claims up to 60% better performance on the M3 compared to the M1. Other improvements made to the M3 MacBook Air include support for up to two external displays (when the lid is closed), support for WiFi 6E, and a new Midnight color that has a new anodization process to make it more resistant against fingerprints.

The M3 MacBook Air starts at Php 69,990 for the 13-inch 8GB/256GB model and Php 82,990 for the 15-inch 8Gb/256GB model. Here’s the price of the rest of the models:

13-inch

  • 8GB/512GB – Php 81,990
  • 16GB/512GB – Php 93,990

15-inch

  • 8GB/512GB – Php 94,990
  • 16GB/512GB – Php 106,990

The MacBook Air M3 is available for pre-order at the Apple Philippines website, so expect official resellers like Power Mac and Beyond the Box to have them soon.
