With Meizu marking its return to the Philippines with the Note 21 series, we’re speculating that the just announced Note 16 series might make it to the country. Unveiled in China, both the Note 16 and Note 16 Pro have enticing features as midrange devices.
The Note 16 Pro has the qualities of a decent 2025 midrange phone with a 144hz AMOLED display that has skinny bezels and 1600nits peak brightness. Powering it is a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor that’s paired with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, and its rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main shooter and 8-megapixel ultrawide.
You get an IP66 rating and Android 15-based FlymeOS 2, and its battery is a beefy 6200mAh cell that supports 80w charging. With a CNY 1,499(~Php 12k) starting price for the 8GB/256GB model, the Note 16 Pro could be a solid offering from Meizu if they can keep the price at under Php 15k in the Philippines.
Moving to a more affordable offering, the Note 16 goes for a 120hz IPS display that has a peak brightness of 1050nits, along with an IP65 rating and a headphone jack. It uses a relatively unknown Uniscoc T8200 processor that’s paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and has a 50-megapixel main shooter accompanied a a 2-megapixel filler camera. It has a huge 6600mAh battery that supports 40w charging, and starts at CNY 799(~Php 6.5k) for the 8GB/128GB model.
