NAIA 8th Worst Airport for Queuing Times According to Study

NAIA could not catch a break: aside from facing power outages at high-demand days like New Year and Labor Day, along with a complicated situation of privatizing it, the country’s main airport earned infamy yet again as it is cited as the 8th worst airport for queuing times by Casago.

In its study, Casago said only 18.11% said good things about NAIA when it comes to airport queuing times–with Kuwait International Airport being mentioned as the worst when it comes to the said category. How bad is NAIA, after all? For one, Cambodia’s Siem Reap International Airport was highly regarded by passengers in terms of queuing times at 71.43% despite the country being a third-world country like the Philippines. Vietnam–another third-world country–was highly praised for its Noi Bai International Airport at 63.33%.

To even add more insult to injury, NAIA was also cited as the worst airport for business class travelers, garnering an extremely low business class score that barely reached 1/10 (to be specific, NAIA scored 0.88). Both negative mentions of NAIA further hurt the reputation of the Philippines’ main airport, and the government should act on it quickly and try to find a way to transform NAIA’s infamy around the world into a more positive note. While efforts like opening more immigration counters at Terminal 3 are appreciated, a lot needs to be done to improve NAIA overall.
