Despite Palworld facing a lawsuit from Nintendo, developer Pocketpair appears not to have any issues with it as they are working on a mobile version of the game soon–thanks to PUBG developer Krafton sealing a deal with them.
According to a report by Polygon, Krafton will be working on a mobile version of Palworld but did not specify if it will be a standalone mobile version or a straight port of the PC and console version. The only statement Krafton made was that it “plans to faithfully reinterpret and implement the original’s main fun elements to fit the mobile environment.”
Krafton has successfully made PUBG Mobile closely match the original PUBG for PCs and Consoles, so making a mobile version of Palworld should not be difficult for them. We will not be surprised if the upcoming mobile version of Palworld will follow the same free-to-play business model Krafton has implemented with PUBG.
The only challenge we see is how Palworld developer Pocketpair will deal with its lawsuit, where Nintendo accused them of violating multiple patent rights. While Pocketpair said in a statement that it is “unaware of the specific patents we are accused of infringing upon,” the PlayStation 5 version of Palworld is delayed indefinitely in Japan.
