If you hate losing your internet connection at home, PLDT has a new service to solve that with Fiber Always On. An add-on service for Php 299 a month for existing PLDT Home subscribers, Fiber Always On uses a WiFi 6 modem that has both fiber and LTE connectivity.
The idea with the modem is that the moment you lose your fiber connection, the modem will automatically switch to LTE to ensure that you remain connected to the internet. The LTE connection uses CAT 6, and PLDT promises speeds of up to 300Mbps depending on your location.
Is there any catch? While the LTE connectivity is unlimited, it only works once the modem detects an issue with your fiber connection. The idea of the LTE connectivity is to give you uninterrupted internet at home.
Aside from having LTE connectivity, what’s unique with this hybrid modem is that it will notify PLDT once it detects a connection interruption, prompting technicians to address your connection issues as soon as possible. The add-on service also has priority for repairs, letting you skip the queue and have your connection fixed within a day or two.
