Samsung 2022 SmartThings Hub Will Integrate Your Household Devices

At CES 2022, South Korean technology behemoth Samsung let the world know of its goal for connected living. By installing Samsung SmartThings software on all products that roll down the factory line, as well as possible updates over the air to current devices in consumer homes, they desire to make every home, a smart home.

“Historically, consumers relied on dedicated hubs to connect each of their devices,” said Mark Benson, Head of Product and Engineering at Samsung SmartThings. “By integrating SmartThings Hub technology into select Samsung products, we are eliminating a barrier to entry and streamlining the entire process to enable consumers to create the connected home of their dreams.”

According to the firm’s statements, billions of devices worldwide are already compatible with Samsung Smartthings in 2022. Examples are Smart TVs, refrigerators, and monitors. This would make it much easier to roll out the software and see mass adoption in the near future.

Smart devices will be connecting to the internet via Matter, a built-in software designed to facilitate stability in network functions. If these devices and programs work hand-in-hand like they are supposed to do, then the company has a real opportunity with the 2022 iteration of Samsung SmartThings to improve the home lives of the general population.
