Smart is still the fastest among the three telcos in the Philippines when it comes to download speeds according to OOKLA in Q4 of 2023. The telco recorded a median download speed of 37.64 Mbps, compared to its main competitors Globe, which scored a median download speed of 26.44 Mbps, and DITO, which nabbed just 19.74 Mbps, respectively.

Smart’s median download speeds for the Philippines have been rising steadily throughout the year, from 33.39 Mbps in Q1 to 35.39 Mbps in Q2 and 35.56 Mbps in Q3. As far as the Philippines’ average mobile download speeds go, OOKLA ranks us the country’s 86th, with median download speeds topping out at 28.12 for the entire country.

Moving on to actual device speeds, it looks like Apple owners have something new to brag about, with the iPhone 15 Pro Max getting the highest median download speeds of the report, at 95.14 Mbps. Surprisingly, second place for download speeds is the POCO F5 at 93.06 Mbps, with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra coming in at third at 85.85 Mbps. The POCO F5 is the only non-Apple, non-Samsung in the speediest download list – the iPhone 14 Pro Max comes in at 4th at 80.54 Mbps with the Galaxy S22 Ultra at fifth at 79.30 Mbps.

Smart has consistently been on the top of OOKLA’s speed charts and was crowned the fastest mobile network by the company in 2022, so it’s no surprise that Smart is still has the download crown in for Q4 of 2023.
