After updating its prices early this year, Starlink announced a new round of price hikes of its residential and roaming plans anew, with the latter getting a 50GB allocation option if users find the unlimited service too expensive. This was confirmed by Starlink subscribers in Facebook, adding that the price hike goes into effect on May 16.
At Starlink’s site, the Residential Plan is now priced at Php 3,800 a month, which is a Php 1,100 increase from its former price of Php 2,700. This plan is meant for households, which means your Starlink satellite is limited for use in one area.
If you want to use your Starlink satellite anywhere, the Roam Unlimited plan is now priced at Php 5,700 a month, which is a steep Php 1,600 hike from the last price update in January. It’s not all bad news, as Starlink now has a 50GB Roam Data plan that’s priced at Php 3,000 a month and is the most affordable among the current plans. For most Starlink users, the 50GB Roam Data plan might be the most ideal as they often have Starlink as a backup internet solution.
As for the hardware, the prices remain the same: the Standard Kit will cost you Php 28,000, while the Mini Kit is more expensive at Php 33,500. With the new round of price hikes for Starlink’s plans, users will have to think twice if it’s worth availing of the service. Our honest take here is that the 50GB Roam Data is a practical option if you need Starlink as a backup internet solution. Going for the residential plan is only advisable if you live in a remote area where fiber, 4G, and 5G connectivity is not possible.
