The DJI Avata Aims to Give the Best FPV Drone Experience

While FPV drones are meant for a niche market, DJI wants to provide the best possible experience with the unveiling of the Avata. The Avata pairs with the DJI Goggles 2 and DJI Motion Controller to deliver an “almost out-of-boy FPV flight” according to DJI Creative Director Ferdinand Wolf. This is the second FPV drone from DJI after the first one back in 2021.

Key features of the Avata include an 18-minute flight time with its 2420mAh battery, a 410g weight, and integrated propeller guards to keep it safe when flying it in enclosed spaces. Its camera uses a 1/1.7-inch sensor and has a 155-degree FOV. The Avata is capable of recording up o 4K60, and at 2.7k at up to 120FPS.

Being an FPV drone, it has the same functionalities as your typical drone, but can accelerate fast, zoom in and out of tight spaces, and even stop at a fraction of a second. In a nutshell, the Avata is meant for professional users who want to shoot FPV footage. With its weight, that also means that users will need to apply for a drone license.

In the Philippines, the Avata is currently on pre-order until September 2 in Lazada and Shopee for Php 59,800 for the Fly More Combo and Php 72,800 for the Pro View Combo.
