The Galaxy S23 FE Might Live Another Day–with a Processor Twist

You’re probably confused, and you’re not alone: initially, there were reports that Samsung has no plans of releasing a Galaxy S23 FE, and one of our speculations is that the Galaxy A54 is set to take over the S23 FE’s position. That appears to be not the case, as SamMobile reports that the Galaxy S23 FE will push through–but with a twist on its processor.

To recall, both the Galaxy S20 FE and S21 FE were offered in Exynos and Snapdragon variants, and that might not be the case for the S23 FE. Instead, the Galaxy S23 FE will reportedly only use an Exynos 2200 processor.

Considering that the Exynos 2200 will be two years old at this point (there’s no Exynos 2300), it appears that Samsung wants to utilize all of its remaining stock for the Galaxy S23 FE. The move is plausible, as only Europe got the Exynos 2200-powered Galaxy S22 phones–the rest of the world got the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 version instead, which was infamous for its thermal issues.

As for the upgrades, the Galaxy S23 FE is expected to use a new 50-megapixel main camera–presumably, the same one used on the Galaxy S23 and S23+. There will be 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, along with 128GB and 256GB storage options. The battery is expected to be the same at 4500mAh, and charging will stay the same at 25w.

While we take this info with a grain of salt, fans of the FE series should have some hope that the Galaxy S23 FE might exist, after all.
