TMP Postpones Round 2 of Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup

Originally scheduled on September 11 this year, the second leg of the country’s longest-running one-make-race will be moved on October 16. The decision was made by Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) after carefully considering the ongoing status of the covid-19 pandemic in the country. Toyota doesn’t want to compromise the health and safety of the participants hence the postponement. On the bright side, it will give racers and teams more time to prepare for the race.

“As committed when we opened the 2021 race season, the safety and well-being of our participants and partners will be our top priority. In view of the current surge in COVID-19 cases and the enforcement of new quarantine guidelines, we decided it is best for everyone to move the second leg originally scheduled on September 11 to a later date: October 16,” said TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto.

“We look forward to seeing you on the next race weekend in October. For now, we would like to remind everyone to stay safe and strictly follow safety and precautionary measures,” he further added.

The Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup 2021 is one of the most exciting motoring events this year. It is star-studded with veteran celebrity drivers such as Daniel Matsunaga, Troy Montero, and Fabio Ide to name a few.  Be sure to catch the track action on October 16 by following Toyota Motor Philippines and TOYOTA GAZOO Racing PH on Facebook.
