The One and Only God of Mischief, Loki!
After weeks of searching for a good deal we finally picked up a decently priced Loki 1/6th Scale Figure by Hot Toys from an online seller on Facebook! This limited edition collectible figurine is authentic (licensed by Marvel) and is a fully detailed realized likeness of Tom Hiddleston as Loki in The Avengers movie. It’s approximately 32 cm tall and the body has over 30 points of articulation making very posable. Loki joins Thor and Hulk in our growing 1/6th The Avengers collection!
To those wondering, Hot Toys is the name of the company that licenses and manufacturers 1/6th scale figures of characters in movies. They have several lines already and we’re currently collecting two: The Avengers and GI Joe 2: Retaliation. Hot Toys is one of the most famous global brands in collectibles because of their obsession with the littlest of details and their ability to really get the exact look of the characters in the movie in their toys. Loki is a great example of this as you’ll see with our photos.
Stunning Likeness, Lots of Extra Accessories!
The default figure has Loki in his metallic gold and black leather armor. We were really amazed to see how much work went into the small details of Loki’s armor and suit. Everything from the head down just look superb. Here are some photos for your reference:
Other than the armor, there are also several accessories that you can attach to the figure. First we have the green cloth cape. You can attach it to the armor via the shoulder plates. Next we have the horned helmet. This one is a bit trickier to put on and remove as it entails disassembling and reassembling it.
We also have a variety of weapons including the Tesseract Rod, Tesseract Staff, and 2 Daggers. Here are some shots of Loki with his weapons. In order it’s Loki with the 2 daggers, Tesseract Rod, and finally with the Tesseract Staff.
You’d think that Hot Toys would end with just these accessories… but wait… there’s more! They actually threw in Loki’s final get-up in the movie — yes the shackles and mouthpiece that were put on him by Thor before they travelled back to Asgard!
We’re definitely happy with the figure and it’s a fantastic addition to our growing collection. We’re eyeing on getting either Black Widow or Iron Man (Mark VII) next. Hopefully we can finish the entire Avengers cast by Q1 next year.
The Loki 1/6th Scale Figure from The Avengers by Hot Toys usually sells in local toy shops for over Php15,000. However there are some online sellers which you can find in forums that can give better deals (Php12,000-Php14,000).
